Hey Reader,

Fully transparency here.

I keep re-writing this introduction, and it continues to feel mechanical and uninspired.

As such, I'm going to keep it short.😌

I'm incredibly glad you're here, and I hope you find at least one of the following things inspirational/impactful as you round out your month.

Enjoy!

Minimal Musings

I've been trying something new - posting daily on the blog (learn more about my inspiration here).😱

My hope is that through these short-form posts, I can inspire, encourage, and motivate others while developing my writing skills more regularly.

If you've been (or will be) following along, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The Rise Of The ‘Slow Productivity’ Movement

At what point have we entered the territory of burnout and productivity for productivity's sake?

It's a deeply personal question that would benefit all of us to ask.

Whatever your answer is, consider this a monthly reminder to slow down.

4 stress-reducing Google Calendar settings you didn't know you needed

I'm not sure any of us "need" these settings, but if you're looking to optimize your calendar, it could be worth trying some of them out!

One change I made was fading the color of past events - it's a small yet visually helpful shift.

P.S. If you ever experience productivity tweaks that change your life, I'd love to hear about them!

The Gift: 14 Lessons to Save Your Life - Edith Eger

I went into this read with skepticism.

Not only did the book's subtitle feel hyperbolic, but I wondered who in the world would be qualified to give such advice.

It turns out that Dr. Egar, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor and psychologist, is more than qualified and has an abundance of wisdom to share about life, trauma, and a wide range of other topics.

My only word of warning is to prepare for tears - this is a beautiful yet difficult read.

What will June bring?😌

My plans for the coming month are twofold:

  1. Maintain daily routines - I'd like to get a full month of regular writing, reading, and posting under my belt. That includes during (wish me luck🤞🏼) a camping trip we have planned.
  2. Acclimate to our new home - Given the struggle I've shared related to our move, I want to leave extra room for transition. I'm unsure how the coming month will feel, but I want to avoid moving on too quickly if I still need space to process.

What does June look like for you? Do you have a list of goals, or are you just along for the ride?

Whatever the case, I hope it's a month full of gratitude and growth!🙏🏼

Cheers,

James

I'm writing this from an apartment that is mostly full of boxes and small holes in the wall (don't tell our landlord🤫) - we're moving to a slightly larger space tomorrow (as I alluded to in last week's post), and...
