Hey Reader,

When someone asks what you do for fun, is it a struggle to answer? For some reason, when I'm faced with that query, my mind draws a blank, and I scramble for any shred of interesting material.

Does existing count as a hobby?

Since you're a genius that finds this question ridiculously easy to answer, what strategy do you use?

For reals - let me know - I'm curious how other people approach this question!

If you're confused as to why I started the newsletter this way, you're not alone. I wrote what was on my mind and maybe that was a bad idea?πŸ˜…

Probably best to move on...

Here's what stood out to me as interesting/inspirational during the month of November:

How to Decorate for the Holidays as a Minimalist

If you haven't previously considered how to decorate as a minimalist, you're not alone!

Sometimes it feels like the best holiday strategy is to strap in and hang on; the idea of digging deeper into our decoration ethos or gift-giving traditions can feel like more work than it's worth.

Thankfully, decoration decisions can be easier than they seem, and they could even save you a lot of stress during the season.

FutureMe

With the end of 2022 close at hand, we're presented with a unique opportunity for reflection.

Whether your year has been full of anxiety or delight, FutureMe presents a funky opportunity to consider the past and share those insights with your future self.

You could, of course, troll 2040 you with an email out of the blue (email won't be around by that point though, right?πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ), or you could take the opportunity to encourage and remind them of where you used to be.

Regardless of how you use this tool, it's worth checking out!

Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life - Anne Lamott

I was shocked by the vulnerability and rawness that Anne Lamott brought to this book.

She could have consolidated her writing recommendations into a few short chapters, but she instead chose to make the lessons more personal - more real.

It's like she puts an arm around you and says, "I know where you're at."

If you're looking to develop your writing skills, don't pass this book by!

Creator: James Hoffmann

While James isn't a productivity creator per se, his dedication to helping others enjoy and improve their coffee-drinking habits comes close.

If coffee is a regular part of your day, providing you with a much-desired boost of energy, I'd highly recommend giving James' YouTube channel (and book) a look. He'll help you refine your brewing techniques, understand how coffee works, and provide a glimpse into the industry.

Oh, he's also quite funny - this Bripe review never fails to make me chuckle!

And Onto December We Go!

It's weird to think that the next newsletter will reach you after Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hannukah, etc.

As such, I hope you have a lovely month full of family, friends, and celebration and a month without clutter and anxiety.

Cheers,

James

P.S. Have thoughts about the newsletter? I'd love to hear them!

As such, I'm going to keep it short.😌 I'm incredibly glad you're here, and I hope you find at least one of the following things inspirational/impactful as you round out...

I'm writing this from an apartment that is mostly full of boxes and small holes in the wall (don't tell our landlord🀫) - we're moving to a slightly larger space tomorrow (as I alluded to in last week's post), and...
